A Curious Invitation present London Month of the Dead
Embracing the Beast
EMBRACING THE BEAST
Our Changing Relationship with Demons, Werewolves and Vampires
With Peter Laws
on Sunday the 24th October 2021 at 1:30 pm

Through history, psychology, popular culture, horror movies and humour, the Reverend Peter Laws asks why human culture seems so fascinated with the thought of a ‘beast inside us’. Peter, who loved scary movies before he ever set foot in a church, charts our changing relationship with werewolves, vampires and demons and shares how these once feared beasts have become objects of desire and even, liberation.

From Peter’s hunting of werewolves in Hull to meeting real life blood drinking vampires to the recent boom in requests for exorcism, he’ll unpack, for some people, how becoming a dangerous monster can be both frightening and surprisingly appealing.

Please note this event has sadly been cancelled due to the speaker testing positive with Covid-19. All ticket holders have been refunded
